What Is The Difference Between Disc Flat Gate Valve And Ball Valve
Leave a message
There are obvious differences between disc gate valves and ball valves in many aspects.
First of all, from the structural point of view, the spool of the disc flat gate valve is a flat structure, which is controlled by the lifting plate, and the spool of the ball valve is a spherical cutoff. This structural difference leads to their different performance in fluid control. The lift plate structure of the flat gate valve can withstand larger flow and density media control, and is suitable for large flow and density media control, such as water treatment, hydraulic, fire and other fields. The ball valve can be quickly switched in the range of 0-90 degrees, making the fluid control more accurate, suitable for high pressure and high temperature fluid control, common in petroleum, chemical, natural gas and other fields.
Secondly, from the point of view of sealing performance, the disc plate gate valve uses a metal to metal sealing method, the contact surface between the seat and the gate is tight, the sealing performance is good, and the medium leakage can be effectively prevented. The sealing performance of the ball valve is also better, but due to its structural characteristics, special attention may be required in some high pressure or high temperature environments.
In addition, from the point of view of operation, the disc plate gate valve adopts manual devices such as hand wheel or worm wheel, which is easy to operate. The opening and closing of the ball valve is rapid, the flow of the medium is not limited, and the ball only needs to turn 90 degrees when opening and closing, which is more convenient and rapid.
