1. Flat gate valve: Flat gate valve form a flat seal between the gate plate and the seat, suitable for medium and low pressure media.

2. Elastic gate valve: Elastic gate valve is sealed between the gate plate and the seat with elastic material, suitable for high pressure media.

Q: What are the requirements for sealing surface materials?

A: When selecting sealing surface materials, the following requirements should usually be met.

① It has good sealing performance, that is, the sealing surface has a good ability to prevent the leakage of the medium.

② Has a certain strength, that is, the sealing surface does not produce plastic deformation under larger specific pressure conditions.

③ It has corrosion resistance, that is, the sealing surface has a strong ability to resist corrosion under the action of corrosive media.

④ It has anti-abrasion performance, that is, the friction coefficient of the sealing surface is small in the movement of each other, and the wear resistance and abrasion resistance are good.

⑤ It has erosion resistance, that is, the sealing surface can resist such damage under the scouring of high-speed media, under the impact of floating fine particles, and under the impact of bubbles in the medium.

⑥ It has good thermal stability, that is, the sealing surface has sufficient strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures; It has good resistance to cold and brittleness at low temperature. When selecting sealing surface materials, it is impossible for a material to have the above properties, therefore, several requirements should be focused on meeting according to the working conditions.

For corrosive media, first of all, corrosion resistance should be met, and then consider the requirements of other properties to select materials. For the sealing surface of gate valve, attention should be paid to the selection of materials with good abrasion resistance.

The sealing surface of safety valve, throttle valve and regulating valve is most vulnerable to erosion of the medium, and materials with good erosion resistance should be selected. The sealing ring and the body are of Mosaic structure, and the consistency of the expansion coefficient of the sealing ring and the body material should be considered.

Valves containing solid media should use rubber and plastic with good sealing performance as sealing surfaces.

Note: When selecting materials, the sealing surface material of the valve seat should be as hard as possible than the sealing surface material of the valve disc.
