5. Too much packing is installed, causing the packing gland to sit on top of the packing box, causing displacement and chafing the valve stem.

6. The pre-tightening gap between the packing gland and the stuffing box is too small, if the packing leaks in use, the packing gland can not be tightened again.

7. The packing cover is too tight on the packing, which increases the wear of the valve stem and increases the opening and closing force of the valve stem.

8. The packing gland is skewed, and the tightness is uneven.

9. The gap between the valve stem and the packing gland is too small, and the mutual friction will wear the valve stem. Defects such as distortion, scratches and tensile deformation occur during the installation of the ring.
